The intersection between democracy, the digital space and youth participation offers significant potential for advancing the principles set out in the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance (ACDEG), and for improving democratic governance in the member states of the African Union. The rapid expansion of digital technologies and internet access has transformed the political landscape, offering new opportunities for citizen engagement and participation.

As Africa's youth are a driving force for political and social change, it is essential to empower them and involve them in decision-making processes.

By harnessing the power of digital platforms, governments can improve transparency, accountability and inclusion in democratic governance. In addition, creating an environment conducive to digital literacy, access to information and meaningful youth participation can help strengthen democratic institutions and achieve the CADEG's objectives.
